On March 19, Mayumi Shichida, the vice president of Shichida Educational Institute, participated in an online roundtable discussion with parents in China.
Since the current pandemic situation prevents free travel between countries, this type of discussion was planned to encourage communication with as many parents as possible around the world.
Over 400 parents applied for the online roundtable discussion in China, and a variety of criteria was used to select the six parents who participated.
The discussion included sharing the results of children's lessons and home activities in China and other countries, and there was time to address parents' questions and concerns about parenting that arise within their daily lives.
This rare opportunity allowed us to hear parents' questions and children's results directly, and it was a meaningful time for us to hear the real voices of Center attendees.
We were very happy to hear one mother say, "When my child and I attended a trial lesson, I felt that the students were not only developing intellectually, but also learning the manners and etiquette that are expected in society. So, I decided to enroll right away." We were happy to feel a sense of how the essential features of the Shichida Method, including whole personality education and the education of the heart, are evident in China as well.
Mayumi Shichida also shared nutritional guidance about how to keep children focused and healthy, even as the Covid-19 virus continues to spread.
Despite the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Shichida Educational Institute remains committed to supporting parents as they practice the Shichida Method and will continue to hold these online roundtable discussions in each country.
